Approve or Deny Speaking Rights Requests

 

Overview 

This article will show you how to approve Speaking Rights and/or manually grant Speaking Rights. Board Members can request Speaking Rights during a meeting.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Agendas
    upload_an_agenda_or_agenda_packet_agendas.jpg
  2. Select the Agenda you want to start

  3. Click the Minutes button

  4. Navigate to the Summary tab

  5. If there is a request, there will be a Speaker Icon next to the current event; select the icon

  6. View the requests; click Edit, Delete, or Start Time
    • edit_tool.png Edit: Edit the Speaker Name, Speaker Type, and/or Duration

      • Note: Default duration is 2 minutes.
    • Delete: Remove the request; do not grant speaking rights

    • Start Time: Start the duration time; grants speaking rights

  7. When you grant time, a Time Left timer will appear on your Clerk-view screen

  8. When the duration is over, the speaking rights expire and a Time is Up pop-up appears on your screen
